Love Not the World

Wednesday, January 23rd, 2008

Let’s face it, there is always something in this world that we are drawn to. It is the nature of our creation, as Paul put, we have been made “subject to vanity”. The question as Christians is how we deal with our worldly appetites, be they lust of the flesh, lust of the eyes or the pride of life. The ‘new’ Christianity says that it’s o.k. to love the world and love God at the same time, God will accept us anyway. Some are even saying that it is acceptable in God’s eyes to be a believer in Christ, and still keep your old religion. But the Bible message is very clear, we cannot love God and the world at the same time. Remember that God is a jealous God. He will not give place to another. A true Christian then has only one option, that is to hate the world and everything in it. No exceptions.

In this message I use graphic illustrations to show that we all know what is worldly and what is Godly. We just need to follow what is right. If you would like a free DVD of this message, just send us a note, and we will get it out to you.

Confidence

Thursday, January 17th, 2008

Where have I been you ask?  Right here, I just didn’t feel like blogging anything, and I haven’t preached anything that I thought was worth while.  I have a lot of critics, but I am my biggest one.  God has been dealing with me alot so far this year.  It is good that He is doing that.  I spend less time now distracted by other things, and more time in prayer and Bible study.  Our enemy doesn’t like this and has tried again to move me away from God and my calling in Him.  I preached this message Sunday morning and originally titled it “What the Devil tried to talk you out of.”  God gave me one word to overcome the Devil’s antagonism.  That word is confidence.  Enjoy the message.

Christianity out of the closet

Monday, December 17th, 2007

I am tired.  Tired of worrying what others think.  Tired of worrying what the cost of my beliefs might be.  Tired of being afraid of the faces of men.  I am coming out of the closet, so to speak.  As Bible believers, we can no longer hide in fear because of what we believe and what we stand for.

I preached this message a few Sundays ago, and what a powerful service it was.  Not by any effort on my own.  This message God literally laid on my heart just hours before I preached it.  To Him be all the praise.

As always, if you would like a copy of this on DVD, just contact us and we will send it right out.

No Cancer!

Thursday, November 29th, 2007

The biopsy results just came back negative.  However, the tumor does need to be removed because it may develop into cancer later.  This will be done the week of December 10th.  Lisa and I wish to thank everyone for the prayers and intercession for us.  Our God is a good God and it is a joy to serve Him.  Keep watching our website and this blog for more of what God is doing through our ministry.

Lazy Wall Builders

Wednesday, November 28th, 2007

In Proverbs 24, we see Solomon getting wisdom and instruction just from seeing the ruins 0f what used to be a beautiful vineyard.  There are a lot of these vineyards that we will be able to recognize, one of them is the church, another is our country.  For me, from time to time, it is my life.  I sometimes live in the ruins because of apathy and laziness, and glory in what used to be.

This is last Sunday’s message.

Biopsy

Tuesday, November 27th, 2007

I took my wife yesterday (Monday)  to the Cancer and Breast Center for a biopsy.  She did fine through the procedure, good enough that she wanted to go shopping at St. Louis Mills mall afterward.  It wasn’t until we got home yesterday afternoon that the pain began to set in.  This morning she woke up with a rash; she is sensitive to certain soaps and skin antiseptics.

A man in my church who is suffering with bone cancer called me this morning and gave me some “advice from an old man.”  I took his advice and sent my wife an “I love You” text note on her cellphone.  There will be more to follow.

We won’t know the results of the biopsy until tomorrow at the earliest.  I will let you know.

The King James Code

Wednesday, November 21st, 2007

We started video recording a new version of a previous video set called the King James Code - Scripture Numerics and Bible Prophecy.  Part 1 is an introduction to numerical patterns in the King James Bible and an understanding of how numbers are used in Scriptures.  This was how God began to teach “great and mighty things” from the Scriptures.  We will have parts 2, 3, and 4 posted as they come along.  Here is the link.

My Wife has a tumor

Tuesday, November 20th, 2007

My wife has a tumor.  She told me about it a little while back.  She went for a mammogram last week, in which they also did ultrasound testing on her as well.  After I left Thursday to go deer hunting, ( I never should have left) the doctor called and told her there was definitely something inside the mass they were looking at.  She was referred to a breast and cancer specialist in St. Louis.  We are leaving in about an hour or so for her appointment with this specialist.  My wife is very afraid.  So am I.

Please keep us in your prayers.  I will let you know through this blog how things are going.

A Thief in the Night

Thursday, November 8th, 2007

A little while back, a man who had only been married a little over 2 years, (I joined him and his bride together), woke up Sunday morning, kissed his wife as she had to work that day, and relaxed in bed as she left.  She came home around noon when he wouldn’t answer the phone, and found him slumped over the bed with a phone in his hand.  He was dead.  He did not believe in God.

As tragic as this is, this is a reality for most people, who, although they have heard, they will not believe.  And death, the day of the Lord, comes to them as a thief in the night.

As Christians, who are children of the day, that day will not overtake us as a thief.  I don’t know about you, but I would rather know, than not know, so that I can be sure that I am ready.

I preached this message last Sunday morning.  If you would like a DVD of this, or several of them, just send us a note.  You have friends and family members that do not know the Lord.  They need to be warned.

It happens often

Wednesday, October 31st, 2007

I am such a computer nerd (not a geek, a geek is a programmer, I am just a hopeless user, a nerd.)  I experiment alot with my computer, especially since I started trying out different operating systems.  I have been trying to ween myself from Microsoft products, and turn to Linux, which is what I am using to write this blog.  To make a long story short, going from one Linux distribution to the other causes me to lose something along the way everytime.  This time, and practically every time, I lose emails.  And guess what, I lost yours!.  If you sent me an email recently requesting a video, and you haven’t gotten the video yet, send me another, or call here at 636-931-3999.  We ( I )  will try not to lose your request again.
